How It Works

Three days, by your side

A real person meets you at the airport and helps you through your first essential steps, in person.

Day 1

Airport to accommodation

Meet at Munich Airport, get help managing your luggage, understand the public-transport system and which ticket you need, and travel to your accommodation together by public transport.

Day 2

Getting connected

Understand your SIM-card options and the documents you need, with accompanied or guided practical setup where appropriate, plus answers to your essential settling-in questions.

Day 3

Banking and health insurance

Understand common bank-account and health-insurance application routes and the documents usually required, with support for your practical next steps. You choose your providers and sign your own agreements.

After

After the three days

You leave with a clearer understanding of Munich, your essential services and what you need to complete next.

B.O.B does not provide professional legal, immigration, tax, financial or insurance advice, does not make decisions for students, does not guarantee acceptance by any bank, insurer, authority or provider, does not pay third-party charges, and does not process visas, university admissions or official procedures in the student's name. Travel is by public transport unless another arrangement has been explicitly agreed; B.O.B is not a taxi, chauffeur, porter or private-transfer company.

About the Founder

Built by someone who's been in your seat

Baljit Bhatti, founder of B.O.B
"I want your arrival to be easier than mine was."

I came to Germany as an international student and experienced the arrival challenges personally: the luggage, the ticket machines, the paperwork, and no one beside me who knew the way. Those first days shaped everything that came after.

Before founding B.O.B, I spent more than ten years in operations and client relationship management, most recently leading a team of 35 people for a global business services firm. Planning logistics, solving problems on the spot and taking care of people has been my profession for a decade.

I completed an MBA at Munich Business School, I live in the Munich area, and I created B.O.B to give incoming students the support I wish I had: a real person at the airport, on the train, and next to you while you work through your first essential steps. You can talk to me in English, Hindi, Punjabi or Marathi.

B.O.B is a new, personal service, and I say that openly. Helping students arrive well today also shapes a longer-term idea: making relocation to Germany easier for students everywhere.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What does the service cost?

The introductory pilot price is €30, one-time, for all three days of personal support. It is a launch-stage price while B.O.B validates and improves the service with its first group of students. Third-party costs (transport tickets, SIM and mobile-plan costs, bank charges, insurance premiums, food, taxis and other external charges) are not included and are paid by the student. There are no subscriptions or automatic charges.

What happens after I submit the form?

Submitting the form does not create a payment obligation or guarantee availability. I will first check whether I am available for your arrival date and contact you using your preferred method. Before payment, you will receive confirmation of the service scope, price, three-day schedule, start date and relevant cancellation information.

The full process: you submit an inquiry, I check availability and contact you personally, we confirm the service details, date, scope and price, you receive the service and cancellation information, payment is arranged, your final flight and accommodation details are collected privately, and the airport meeting point is confirmed before you arrive.

How will I recognise you at the airport?

Before arrival, we will confirm the meeting point and exchange current contact details. I will message you when I reach the agreed meeting location. A short introductory video call can also be arranged before your journey.

Can a parent or family member join the introductory call?

Yes. A parent, guardian or family member may join the introductory call if that helps you feel more comfortable and understand how the service works.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Please update B.O.B as soon as possible. Reasonable flight delays will be accommodated where possible, but significant schedule changes may require a revised meeting time depending on availability.

Can you help with my luggage?

I can help you manage your luggage during the airport-to-accommodation journey. However, B.O.B is not a professional porter service, and students should remain able to travel safely with their belongings. Please tell me approximately how many bags you will bring and whether any are unusually large or heavy.

Can I cancel after booking?

Cancellation and withdrawal information will be provided before payment and before the service begins. If you ask for the service to begin immediately, any required confirmation will be collected first.

Which cities do you cover?

The in-person service currently covers arrivals in Munich, where the founder lives. If you are arriving in another German city, B.O.B cannot yet accompany you in person, but you are welcome to get in touch.

How did my university know about B.O.B?

B.O.B is designed to be shared by universities with incoming international students, as a recommendation and nothing more. Your university never shares your data with B.O.B. Every conversation starts because you chose to reach out.

What happens to my data?

Your information, including your flight and arrival details, is used only to respond to your inquiry and coordinate the requested arrival service, and is kept only for as long as necessary for that. Your data is never sold or shared with universities or other organisations for their own marketing purposes. Selected service providers, including Formspree and the website-hosting provider, process limited personal data on behalf of B.O.B where necessary to operate the website, deliver form submissions and respond to your inquiry. Unfinished form entries are stored temporarily in your own browser (sessionStorage) and disappear when you close the tab. You can request deletion at any time by email. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

What does B.O.B not do?

B.O.B provides practical arrival assistance and general information, not professional services. It does not provide professional legal, immigration, tax, financial or insurance advice. For banks and insurers, B.O.B helps students understand common application routes, required documents and practical setup steps; the student chooses the provider, completes the application and signs any agreement personally. B.O.B does not guarantee acceptance by any bank, insurer, authority or provider, does not pay third-party charges, and does not process visas, university admissions or official procedures in the student's name. It is also not a taxi, chauffeur, porter or private-transfer company: travel is by public transport unless another arrangement has been explicitly agreed.
